John Edwards President and CEO
Mr. Edwards has more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry, including 12 years in key executive positions for high-growth companies. This experience includes servicing as Chairman and CEO of I-Link Corporation (enhanced VoIP services), President of Coresoft (object-oriented business systems for telephony and data), President of Digital Research (owners of DR-DOS), and Executive Vice President of Novell (enterprise networking). Career accomplishments include leading the first delivery of Voice-Over-IP (VoIP) technology to the market and implementing the first file and print server and operating system (NetWare). Edwards receive a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Brigham Young University and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Arizona State University.
Greg Smith Chief Technology Officer
Greg has 13 years of technology and product development experience in digital media. Vice President of Technologies All Media Guide, VP of Sales at All Media Guide, Director of Technologies and Senior Product Manager at Edgix, Technology Acquisitions and Product development engineer at PanAmSat. Greg has led the development of bleeding edge technologies in content distribution, media recognition, and video streaming with deployed technologies in the Globalstar constellation and on PlayStation gaming devices. Greg holds a BSE degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University and graduate certificates in advanced dynamics and control theory from Stanford University.
Douglas Parrish Sr. VP of Operations
Prior to joining Move Networks, Douglas was Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for the Walt Disney Internet Group, where he was responsible for overseeing the technology platform, infrastructure, applications, and new product engineering for all of The Walt Disney Company's Internet and wireless properties, including Disney.com, ESPN.com, ABC.com, ABCNEWS.com, and many others. He joined Polaroid Corporation in 1998, where he was chief information officer for the company's consumer imaging business and director of Polaroid's worldwide information technology and eBusiness strategy. Parrish held the position of vice president information services and chief information officer for three years at Nestle's US-based, bottled water business – The Perrier Group of America. He also progressed through several information technology positions, from 1981 through 1994, with the Campbell Soup Company; most notably ten years as vice president and CIO of the Pepperidge Farm unit. He was named one of the computer industry's outstanding technology executives by Computerworld magazine as one of their Premier 100 IT Leaders in 2004. Parrish studied computer science and materials engineering at the University of Utah, and is co-author of the "Application Developers Handbook for the AS/400."
Robert Bryson Sr. VP of Sales and Business Development
Mr. Bryson has 10 years of experience as a sales and marketing executive, including positions as Senior VP of Sales and Marketing for Knowledge Universe (Internet Streaming Video Publisher), Senior VP of Sales and Marketing for I-Link (enhanced VoIP services), and Sr. VP Business Development for Media Station (interactive media publisher of products by Disney, News Corp, Mattel, Philips Media, NTT). Other experience includes Director OEM Business Development and National Accounts for Novell and Sales Manager for IBM Rolm Systems. Key accomplishments include managing key accounts for the first Voice-Over-IP (VoIP) technology deployed to market and involvement rollout of the first file and print server and network operating system (NetWare). Bryson received a B.A. in Economics from Brigham Young University.
Jamie Harper Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Harper has over 14 years of finance and accounting experience in the entertainment and technology industries. Prior to joining Move Networks in July 2007, Mr. Harper held various management positions from April 1999 through July 2007 for internet postage provider, Stamps.com Inc. including Corporate Controller, Vice President of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer. Mr. Harper has also served in various accounting and finance related positions for Paramount Pictures from September 1998 to April 1999, Arthur Andersen LLP from September 1996 to September 1998 and Twentieth Century Fox from June 1993 to September 1996. Mr. Harper is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.S. in Accounting from California State University at Northridge and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
David Rice VP Media and Entertainment Sales, West Coast
David Rice is Vice President of Media and Entertainment Sales for Move Networks based in Los Angeles. He brings nearly 20 years of sales and marketing experience in the technology industry to Move. Prior to joining Move, David was Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Limelight Networks, a leading content delivery network where he was responsible for building that company from a start-up to a leading provider of services to media and entertainment organizations. Prior to Limelight, David was a National Sales Manager at Akamai Technologies where, he was instrumental in helping Akamai significantly increase revenues through partnerships with leading web hosting, managed services and network technology providers. David also served as general manager of NaviPath, a CMGi infrastructure company focused on the Internet Service Provider market where he secured business with top ISPs in the industry. As a Director at PictureTel, he was instrumental in building the IP sales organization responsible for conferencing and streaming technology over the Internet. David also had national responsibility for channel development with NEC Technologies, as well as ARDIS, a Motorola/IBM wireless joint venture. David holds a BS in Business Administration from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Loyola University, Chicago.
Kevin G. Conlan VP Media and Entertainment Sales, East Coast
Mr. Conlan is an experienced digital media professional whose focus is to assist multinational media and entertainment companies to transition their business models from traditional broadcast methodologies to the new digital distribution paradigm. Mr. Conlan specializes in the developing area of media and technology convergence. He is adept at addressing the many issues facing media and entertainment companies today. Before joining Move Networks, Mr. Conlan was a Vice President of Sales – East Coast for Extend Media. Prior to that, Mr. Conlan has held executive sales positions at Network Appliance, EMC/Documentum, Emotion and Novell. Mr. Conlan attended St Thomas Aquinas College New York. He is married, has three children and lives in Highland Mills, NY.
Loren Larsen VP Engineering
Mr. Larsen has over 15 years developing software and leading engineering teams. Previously held the positions of Chief Architect and Director of Embedded Software at World Wide Packets. At WWP he led the development of the software platform to support Metro Ethernet services and triple-play services (voice, video, and data) over Gigabit Ethernet. Prior to that he held engineering and leadership positions with Oresis Communications and IBM. Mr. Larsen has participated in the development of networking standards as a voting member of the IEEE 802.1 Working Group and holds a number of patents. Larsen received B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Utah and an M.S. in Computer Science from Clemson University.
David Ericson VP Operations
Mr. Ericson has held previous executive positions as VP Product and Strategic Development, VP and Executive Director of Network and Product Management for I-Link (enhanced VoIP services). Other key positions include Director of Operations, Office of IT for Brigham Young University and Sr. Director of Product Development for United Carrier Networks (UCN). Key accomplishments include managing the product development and deployment of award winning softswitch and enhanced service application platforms and directing the design and implementation of a convergent VoIP network with a 99.995% customer guaranteed SLA and over 350M minutes of use per month. Ericson received a B.A. in Communications (Broadcast Media Management) from Brigham Young University.
